The stairs in this house are less than grand! This is the only staircase in the house. It is compact and cramped (about 2 feet wide, at most). I fear it will be dangerous as we rush up and down everyday.
My vision for this area is more monumental. I imagine a glorious, majestic staircase with a contemporary feel.
I prefer a staircase wide enough for two people to fit on each step at once. I've seen some photographs of likely candidates, but I'm not ready to post them yet. They may have a glass banister, or just floating steps but will undoubtedly be light and airy.
